Leather Bonnet Strap – Double Buckle – Bespoke

Premium leather over-bonnet strap. Bespoke made-to-measure 1 1/2″ (38mm) leather bonnet belt with felt lining. Available in high-quality brown or black leather.
This pattern is a three-part strap – with two buckles on the centre section and with pointed/staple looped ends for the sides. Felt-lined with buckle protector pads as standard.  The three leather straps are made to order – please specify the length required following the instructions below. These straps are usually made within 10 to 14 days of order.

Standard features of this premium made-to-measure leather bonnet strap:

• Felt non-scratch wool lining – stitched
• One fixed leather keep behind each buckle
• Buckle protector pads 6cm square
• Buckle protector pads featuring 30mm diameter ‘Toby’ stamp
• Polished stainless-steel belt buckles
• 5 pre-punched holes in the plain ends/side straps
• Two chrome on brass staples

The TOBY Premium Bonnet Strap is supplied with two chrome-on-brass staple loops ready-fitted.

Instructions:

1. For the top strap with buckles. We recommend using a paper template to determine where the top buckles should rest on your bonnet, with consideration to where the staple loops are to be mounted. Note the measurement from one buckle-roller end to the other buckle-roller end. Measurement A on the diagram below.
2. For the total assembly – the total length over the bonnet from the base location of the footman staple on one side to the base location of footman staple on the other side. We will use this dimension and the one above to create a strap assembly with this total length when all three parts are assembled with the middle hole on each side strap used in each buckle. Use a piece of nylon webbing or similar flexible material to find this distance. This is Measurement B on the diagram below.
3.  Order your Toby Double Buckle strap using these two measurements.

5. When fitting, assemble the strap on the bonnet (using the middle of the 5 holes punched into the plain ends) and position the staples for marking and drilling
